What We Collect

We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and do the work.

• When you fill in a form on this site: your name, phone number, email address, and whatever you tell us about the job.
• When you call us: your phone number and the time of the call. Our phone system records this automatically, including for calls we miss, so we can ring you back.
• When you message us through the chat box: your name, contact details, and the messages you send.
• If you become a customer: the address of the job, what work was carried out, and payment records.

Why We Hold It And Our Lawful Basis

We use your details to respond to your enquiry, arrange and carry out the work, keep a record of jobs we have done, and deal with any follow-up or warranty questions afterwards.

Our lawful basis for this is legitimate interests. If you contact a local trade business about a job, it is reasonable to expect that business to keep a record of your enquiry so it can get back to you. Where we are carrying out paid work for you, we also rely on performance of a contract.

How Long We Keep It

Enquiry and customer records are kept for three years from our last contact with you, then deleted. Records we are legally required to hold for longer, such as invoices and accounting records, are kept for the period the law requires.

Who Else Handles Your Details

We use a small number of suppliers to run this website, our phone and messaging system, and our customer records. They act only on our instructions and cannot use your details for their own purposes. We do not sell or share your details with anyone for their own marketing. If you would like to know who these suppliers are, email us and we will tell you.

Cookies And This Website

This site does not run advertising or tracking cookies. The chat box and the embedded Google map may set cookies needed for those features to work. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the chat box may stop working if you do.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

• Give you a copy of the information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Delete your details, where we are not required to keep them.
• Stop using your details, or object to how we are using them.

Email us and we will deal with it within one month. There is no charge.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
